AlexisScholars in Collars was established in 2002 by Alexis Davison. Alexis is an internationally Certified Pet Dog Trainer and is currently completing a Diploma in Dog Training and Behaviour Consulting.  Alexis is a nationally accredited Dog Behavioural Trainer and a Delta Canine Good Citizen instructor. She is an accredited Temperament Evaluator with the Delta Society’s Pet Partner Program and the founding Coordinator of the Adelaide & Districts Pet Partner Program. Alexis is a AABP Professional Dog Trainer and a Professional Member of the Association of Animal Behavior Professionals.

Alexis is registered as an approved dog trainer with the Dog and Cat Management Board of South Australia, and is authorised to assess dogs and their owners for a rebate on their dog’s council registration.

Alexis regularly attends professional development seminars, workshops and educational conferences throughout Australia and overseas. Alexis is a professional member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) both in Australia and in the United States . The APDT’s motto is building better trainers through education.

Alexis has been a tutor at WEA since 2003 and conducts the Dogwise course. Alexis also conducts training seminars for other professionals and groups. These have included training seminars for Animal Management Officers, Veterinary Nurses and non-government organisations.

Delta Canine Good Citizen Instructors are highly trained and are nationally accredited. They use positive reinforcement training to train pet dogs to behave appropriately and calmly in everyday situations. They are bound by a strict code of ethics. Canine Good Citizen Instructors are united in their training methods and philosophy to use humane, positive reinforcement training techniques to produce informed, competent, caring owners with well socialised, well behaved dogs - good citizens on both ends of the leash!
