Puppy Playgroup
The risk of disease is ever-present for pups before they are fully vaccinated, however, it is extremely important that puppies are well socialised and are exposed to many enjoyable experiences before they reach 16 weeks.
Early socialisation increases the likelihood of a puppy being a friendly, confident, well-behaved adult dog that can cope better with the day-to-day stresses that they will encounter throughout their life.
Attending a Puppy Pre-School at your chosen Vet clinic is a great way to socialise your puppy. Puppy Playgroup is an adjunct to the Puppy Pre-school offered by your Vet. Puppy Playgroup focuses on socialisation and is a drop in program. You can attend one session or several provided that your puppy is between 8-16 weeks. And has had a least one vaccination.
All members of your family are encouraged to attend Playgroup, including children. To ensure that classes are pleasurable for all students and puppies and to enable you to achieve the greatest benefit children must be well behaved and supervised at all times. An adult must accompany children under the age of 16 years.
The aim of Puppy Playgroup is to expose your puppy to a wide variety of experiences in a fun, controlled, positive manner. Puppy Playgroup is a drop in program held at 9am on Sunday mornings in Balhannah. The Playgroup runs for 30 minutes and the cost is $10.00 per session which is payable when you attend.
Whilst attendance is on a casual basis, numbers in each session are limited to ensure a safe environment and individual attention for you and your puppy. Consequently, you must phone or email Scholars in Collars to register your puppy for Playgroup.
